Check a text for Kerna's AI marker

Kerna adds an invisible marker to the replies, emails and summaries its AI writes. Paste a text below to look for it.

The check runs in your browser: nothing you paste is sent to Kerna or anyone else.

Paste a text to check it.

How the marker works

The marker is a fixed sequence of seven invisible Unicode characters, added at the end of the text: U+2060 U+200B U+200C U+200D U+200C U+200B U+2060.

The sequence is the same for every user and every message. It carries no information about you, the sender, the recipient or the message, and it does not tell Kerna when a message is opened.

Kerna adds it to the replies and emails it writes, to text it improves, and to the summaries it shows in Gmail and Outlook. A translation carries it only when the text translated was written by Kerna; a translation of your own text does not.

Exported Word and Excel files are marked in their document properties, Google Sheets in an extra tab and Google Docs with a closing line. On the free Starter plan, generated messages also end with a visible line; on paid plans it can be switched on.

Checking in code

Search the text for the sequence. In JavaScript:

text.includes('\u2060\u200B\u200C\u200D\u200C\u200B\u2060')

What the marker can and cannot show

  • It is a signal, not proof. Anyone can copy the sequence into a text, and editing or software can remove it.
  • A missing marker proves nothing: the text may have been edited, or written with another tool.
  • It does not confirm that the content is accurate or who sent it.
