Frequently asked questions
Can it write publication-ready copy?
Kerna is for the email around the work: it drafts replies and messages for a person to check. Editorial copy stays with your writers.
How does it handle sources and unpublished material?
Kerna acts only when someone uses a feature and never scans the mailbox in the background. The text a feature needs goes to OpenAI under Zero Data Retention terms, and Kerna does not write email content to its databases, logs or backups. Kerna's servers are in Belgium and account data is stored in Warsaw; OpenAI may process data in the US under Standard Contractual Clauses. The trust page and the DPA have the detail.
Can editors share one mailbox?
In Outlook, on Business and Enterprise. Kerna shows who has each email and its status. It stores the status, never the email.
Is it useful for newsletter publishers?
For the reader, advertiser and contributor email that comes back, yes. Kerna does not send newsletters.
